    Congratuations to the incoming class of Physics and Astronomy students who received around $60,000 in scholarships!

    One of our recent graduates, Zoe Lemon, was featured in a UMKC Today article!

    April 28th
    Professor McIntosh was recently featured in the MU System Broader Impacts Network for his program, A Bridge to the Stars! A Bridge to the Stars seeks to help local underrepresented high school students to pursue education in STEM fields.

    April 27th
    Professor McIntosh and several students in the department have started a new organization, Wi-Sci (Women in Science) which offers support to women in STEM fields! "[T]his is one of the best aspects of being a professor, helping students grow, organize and become independent and leaders of their causes." said Professor McIntosh who initially started the organization last fall and passed its leadership over to the current student leaders.

    February 22nd
    Congratulations to the UMKC Department of Physics and Astronomy who participated in and advanced to the final round of the UMKC SGS Three Minute Thesis Competition. Five of the nine finalists were from the department with Madalyn Weston being one of the three semifinalists and Daniel Shanaberger winning people's choice in his room!
