Jennifer Owens, Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice and Criminology, (B.A., University of Nebraska-Omaha, 2005; M.A., University of Nebraska-Omaha, 2008; Ph.D., University of Missouri-St. Louis, 2013).

Dr. Owens’ research centers on victimization and substance use using both quantitative and qualitative methods. Of particular interest is how gender shapes who is defined as a victim and/or offender and methodological issues in survey research. Her research has been published by peer-reviewed journals including Crime and Delinquency and the Journal of Drug Issues and by the Bureau of Justice Statistics as a technical report.
